Channels covering privacy, surveillance, and the right to repair.

Louis Rossmann

If you want to hear right-to-repair and privacy arguments from someone who does the repairs, watch Louis Rossmann’s channel, @rossmanngroup. It began as showcases of MacBook logic board repairs from his shop, Rossmann Repair Group, which opened in 2007, and he says manufacturers restrict access to parts and schematics. He also runs the Repair Preservation Group and its 501(c)(4) Action Fund, which lobbies for right-to-repair legislation, and he has pushed back after YouTube removed several of his videos over privacy complaints. I hope you learn something.

Rob Braxman

If you want to understand how much of your personal data big tech collects, start with Rob Braxman’s channel, @robbraxmantech. He spent his earlier career as a chief software architect building enterprise healthcare systems, and he now uses that background to warn viewers about data hoarding and mass surveillance. The channel also covers Linux phones, ham radio and prepper communications for anyone who wants to go further. He sells products such as the Brax3 phone and Bytz VPN.

Naomi Brockwell

If you want practical steps for protecting your data, watch Naomi Brockwell’s channel, @NaomiBrockwellTV. It is the media arm of the Ludlow Institute, a 501(c)(3) non-profit funded by community donations, and it publishes tutorials, mini-documentaries and analyses on protecting your data, money and free expression online. Brockwell, a former producer for journalist John Stossel, also wrote the eBook Beginner’s Introduction to Privacy for people just starting out. I hope you learn something.
